Paying Attention to Details

There is a big difference between multi-tasking and execution. You have to make sure you are not getting sloppy. Just because you get everything done doesn’t mean you are doing it right. This is a critical piece to the opportunity pyramid. One wrong move can set back or even sink your goal. Successfully achieving this step starts with paying attention to details. By carefully analyzing the details of a possible opportunity, you can then carry out your plan effectively.

I know its hard. In today’s fast paced world there is a hidden thread of urgency. But you need to stop, take a breath and ask yourself:

* Can I do this to the best of my ability?
* Do I have the skills in order to achieve my goal?
* Do I have enough time to give it the attention it deserves?

If you say no to either. Step away. How would you feel if someone did a half-ass job for you? Let’s face it when details are loss, execution is poor and the results are well, mediocre. I am a classic Type A so trust me I understand how hard it is to walk away.

You need to put in place a clear set of objectives. You need a game plan.
CARLYLE GAME PLAN

Attaining the pinnacle of success takes time. There is no easy path to achieving your goal. All of my contacts, including the billionaires, work
tirelessly. Their work ethic and focus are immeasurable. Many of my contacts have expressed the idea that you can’t manage a business by leading just for the here and now. You have to think about the impact of what you are doing today will mean for your tomorrow. Don’t make it up as you go along or react moment to moment. Developing a plan takes time and you need to focus by disregarding pressures from the outside.
